Obituary for URBANTKE

Dorothy Ruth Urbantke, long time resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with her Lord peacefully on October 21, 2009. She was born on December 10, 1917 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She is survived by her sister - in - law, Mary Morgan; nieces and nephews, Mary Sue Page and her husband Gary, Margaret Zieger, Ralph Morgan and wife Maribel, Kathy Brown and husband Ric, Karen Crawford, Hugh Urbantke and wife Lea; her friend, of 82 years, Muriel England, and numerous great and great - great nephews, nieces and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Urbantke; her parents, Ralph and Mary Chapson Morgan; brother, Lyle Morgan, and brother -in-law and sister - in - law Hugh Urbantke and wife Linda. Dorothy was a happy loving person who lived life to the fullest. She was raised in Weslaco, TX and went to college in Houston, TX, where she met the love of her life, Irwin Urbantke. They were married and soon moved to Germany, where she enjoyed the old world culture. She and Irwin lived in Houston for many years after coming back to the states. After retirement they sold their home and built a cabin in the woods at Vallecito, CO, where they enjoyed watching wildlife. From there they moved to Durango, CO. Life there was fun and delightful. As they grew older and the snow in Durango grew deeper, they moved to Albuquerque, NM, where they found it perfect. Everyone who knew her loved her "MUCHO". Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas location.
