Jo Ann Miller, 73 born July 29, 1936, passed away October 11, 2009. She was a sister, devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in Lee County, Virginia. Grandma Jo moved to New Mexico from Indiana in 1959. She retired from US West, (Mountain Bell) after 32 years. She continued to work part time at JC Penney's and was hitting her 23rd year. She was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Turquoise Chapter of Rio Rancho and Dual Membership of Adah Chapter of Albuq.) and also was Pr. Banker of Yucca Temple, Daughters of the Nile. She dedicated most of her time to these non-profit organizations. In her very little spare time she loved to read and make her beautiful Afghans. Jo Ann is survived by her only child, Jay D. and his wife Cavell Ann; her grandson Corey J.; and Granddaughter Tammra R.; and her two great-grandsons Alex V. and Blake R.; her sister Evelyn Trammell; and many nieces and nephews of Indiana; her brother Ralph and his wife Pattie; and niece, Deanna Kimberling. She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella; and stepfather Charles Oursler; her two brothers John B. (Jay) and Gayle, whom she loved and missed very much. She now is at peace and no longer suffers. We love you and miss you Grandma Jo. If you wish in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Chapter of NM, Benevolent fund.
