Manuel Antonio "Tony" Lopez, 66, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away in peace on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Tony was a Mariachi of New Mexico and loved his music as well as making everyone laugh. He is survived by the mother of his children, Sylvia Riner; his children Raymond Lopez and partner Rick Smith, Esther Lopez, Gloria and husband David Varela, Miguel Lopez and wife Bernadette Lopez; grandchildren Michael Martinez, Monica Lopez, Sarah Martinez and husband Michael Martinez, Marc Lopez, Marissa Lopez, Gabriel Varela and wife Cheri Varela, Adan Varela, Enrique Varela, Antonio Lopez, Aliyah Lopez and David Rodriquez; great-grandchildren Nikko, Dominic, Mikaela, Monike, Mariah, Mikey, Brianna, D'Anna, Jazzlene, Selena and Lourdes; siblings Emelio Lopez, George Lopez, Richard Lopez, Paul Lopez, Lucy Gallegos, Barbara Banuelos and Gloria Lopez. He was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Mireya Marisol and siblings Mable, Carmen, Margarito and Ernie. Visitation will begin Friday, October 16, 2009, 6:00 p.m. at French Lomas Chapel. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2009, 9:00 a.m. at St. Therese Church, 4th Street and Mildred NW.
