Obituary for TINKCOM

Mike Tinkcom, 48, a Albuquerque resident, passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest on Saturday, September 26, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife Denise Bencoe; son Kyle Tinkcom; father James Tinkcom; three sisters, Mary Tinkcom and her companion Betty, Martha Brisky and her husband Roy, Margaret Listopad her husband Evan and their children; one brother, Matthew Tinkcom and his companion Matt V; his in-law's, Michael Bencoe and family, Dave Bencoe his wife Lori and their son, Troy, Melanie Tuck, her daughter, Samantha Updegraff her husband Loren and their family along with many extended family members and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alberta Frost Tinkcom. Mike had a very successful career in metal fabrication. As a young man Mike completed a five year Federal Millwright apprenticeship and was the winner of a three state competition of Millwrights in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He placed 4th in a follow - up competition for all of North America. Mike was also certified in SMAW, MIG, TIG nuclear welding and was recently CNC certified. During his life Mike attended Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland and CNM in Albuquerque, NM. In his leisure time Mike liked to read, he liked history and politics, enjoyed spending time with his dog's, Oliver, Ginger, and Lady, and creating metal sculptures. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas location, on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Private family interment will take place.
