Homer Garcia, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret), 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960 passed away September 17, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia of the family home. He was preceded in death by his son, David Garcia Lt. Col.USMC (Ret). He is survived by daughter-in-law Victoria Garcia, wife of David, Val Rico, Fl; sons Charles Garcia of Raleigh, John and wife Connie of Virginia Beach, and Richard and wife Bridget of Albuquerque; daughters Barbara and husband Pier Carrara of Albuquerque, Christine Garcia of University Park, Md., and Anne Ramirez of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren Amy Driscoll of Albuquerque, Aaron Garcia of Charlotte, NC; David A. Garcia of Val Rico, FL; Matthew Garcia of Raleigh, NC; Brianna and Dominique Garcia of Albuquerque; great grandchildren Noah and Simon Driscoll. A World War II veteran, Homer was a past president and active member of the New Mexico Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was a graduate of the University of Albuquerque with a degree in accounting. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. Rosary will be recited September 23 at 8:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of Mass of Christian burial at 8:30 at Annunciation with Father Bennett Voorhies celebrant. Reception follows at Magdalene Hall. Interment will be September 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
