Obituary for BURGER

Jayne J. Burger, formerly of Albuquerque, died September 13, in Loveland, CO. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Burger was born Ethal Jane Jones in Longmont, CO, and grew up in Erie and Boulder, CO. She married Glenn W. Burger, a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, in 1942. During his naval career as a pilot, they moved more than two dozen times, including two tours of duty in Albuquerque. In 1961 they settled in Albuquerque, where Mrs. Burger was superintendant of the New Mexico State Fair Hobby Building during the 1970s. She was active in a collectors club and later a quilting group. The Burgers moved to a retirement community in Loveland in 2006. Mrs. Burger is survived by her husband; her daughters Sandra Pilkington of Fort Collins, Colo., and Leslie Chomic of Denver; grandchildren Jillene Toth and Tim Pilkington; and five great-grandchildren.
