John R. Gillespie, Born April 19, 1921 in Johnson City, NY and passed away on September 6, 2009. He is survived by his sister Jane Schroder of Port Charlotte, FL; son's John (Jay) of Media PA., William (Ted) of Ramona, CA, Ron of Albuquerque, NM; and daughters Ann Roche of Canon City, CO, Janice Cortez of Cherry Hills Village, CO, and Susan Gillespie of Friendswood, TX. John also has several grand and great-grandchildren. He was honorable discharged from the Navy and wished to have his ashes spread out to sea. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with pastor Bill Bomer officiating, at the Albuquerque Meadows, 7112 Pan American Frwy. N.E., Albuquerque, NM. There will also be a formal memorial service held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, it was Mr. Gillespie's wishes that donations be made to the Salvation Army.
