Obituary for PERCILICK

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday September 13, 2009

Richard (Dick) Percilick born March 6, 1931 in Auburn, NY, died September 5, 2009. Former US Navy Submarine Sailor, pilot and building contractor; Dick loved his family, his work, his animals, boats and aircraft. He thrived on challenges. He was philosophical, opinionated and compassionate. His creative endeavors are evident in every quadrant of this city and beyond. He rarely referenced his service in the Navy, never took his accomplishments seriously, but told great stories drawn from his abundant life experiences. Those of us who loved him simply appreciated being in the presence of a good, funny and engaging man. He never lost his edgy sense of humor, even during the most difficult times. Shortly before Dick died he spoke of having no regrets, that he had lived life to the fullest. He will be missed by many. Dick is survived by his wife, Sue; his son Mike and children and mate Denise. Also included in his extended family are his stepchildren, Ken Paulick and mate Tina Gelinas, Heidi Dotson and husband Robert and their twin sons. His life will be celebrated; our stories and Dick's stories will be shared at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Dick and Sue's home. Because of Dick's love for animals the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to The Animal Humane Association of NM, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108.
