Nevin Marrs (Buddy) Steed, age 80, resident of Albuquerque since 1984 and a long time resident in Goodpine/Jena, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. He was born on March 7, 1929 in Winnsboro, TX. He graduated from Goodpine Trout High School and Louisiana State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Nevin served his country in the United States Navy and retired from the FDIC as an Auditor/Bank Examiner. He was a long-time member of St. Chad's Episcopal Church and attended St. Stephens Methodist Church for the last several years of his life. Nevin is survived by his children David Steed, Sarah Braaten, and Mona Gonzalez; and grandchildren, Joshua Steed and Hailey Braaten. He was preceded in death by is parents, Lynn and Sally Steed; wife, Mona Edgerton and sister, Lynn Steed. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 10:00a.m., at French ~ Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow the interment, more information will be available at the service or you may call 293-8596.
