Emilia Garcia, 85, died on August 15, 2009 peacefully with her family around her. She is survived by children, son Albert and wife, Susie Garcia; daughter Ada Garcia and companion, Joe Roybal; grandchildren, Bernadette Garcia husband, Raul Chavez, Rosemarie Marquez and husband, Arnold Marquez, and Stephanie Garcia and companion Michael Anderson; great-grandchildren, Joseph Cordova, Chaunte Marquez, Jordan Marquez, Ciara Marquez & Arnold Marquez, Jr., Sheryese Garcia, Mari Chavez, Alicia Chavez, Michael Anderson, Jr., Mateo & Annaleesa Maldonado and Darlene Roybal. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; and many other family members. Emilia worked at Singer, Lenkurt and Digital. She was a foster grandparent at La Luz and MacArthur elementary schools for 16 years. She was a mellow and kind person who enjoyed being with her ten grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bernadette Garcia, Raul Chavez, Rosemarie Marquez, Arnold Marquez, Stephanie Garcia and Michael Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers are Joseph Cordova and Chaunte Marquez. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of Rosary.
