Mrs. Kitty Hazel Darwin ("Hazie"), 97 Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away August 16, 2009. Hazie was born August 26, 1911 in Sterling City, Texas the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mansker. She was married to Ray S. Darwin in 1933 and is the mother of James and Tom Darwin. Hazie is survived by her sister Evelyn Henry, her four grandchildren, Tom Darwin, Jim Darwin and wife Theresa, George Darwin and Ben Darwin and wife Kathy; her four great grandchildren, Evan, Andrew, Paige and Alex. Hazie grew up in Texas ranching country where she road horseback to school and tended to the family goats and sheep. Hazie and Ray moved to Albuquerque in 1949 where they raised their family and created lifelong friends. During her lifetime, Hazie lived through two world wars, saw the first and last man walk on the moon, the invention of television and the personal computer. She was the perfect Texas lady a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, committed Christian, great cook and friend to all that she met. She will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Ave NE, Albuquerque. Flowers arranged by Peoples Flowers.
