Velma Harris, 86, passed away on August 4, 2009. She was born August 1, 1923, in Grady County, OK, to William and Goldie Bennett. Velma is survived by her three children, Paula Avery and her husband Rod, Katherine Brodie and her husband Rick, and Sharon Harris; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Otis Bennett. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Jay Dee. Velma was an active member of the Peace Makers Quilting group, and a devoted member of the Hoffmantown Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Velma's honor to the Lone Star Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society, (1-800-344-4867 or www.nationalmssociety.org) Visitation will be held Sunday, August 8, 2009, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., with a final viewing Monday, August 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., with Service to follow at 10:30 a.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel.
