Jose L. Chavez, Jr., 63 passed away at home on Monday, August 3, 2009 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born May 17, 1946 in Gallup, NM. Chavez is survived by his loving wife Betty; children Derrick Marrufo, Sr., Jozette and Melanie Chavez, Adrian Marrufo, Jr. and Marc Chavez; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his father, Jose L. Chavez Sr.; sisters, Mary Noonen, Della Rosales and Margie George; brothers Manuel and Eddy Chavez. He was preceded in death by his mother Antonia Escamilla Chavez; a sister; two brothers and a grandson. Jose retired from the Gallup Fire Department. A rosary will be recited at St. Francis Xavier Church at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Annunciation Church on Saturday, Augist 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by: Salazar & Sons 400 3rd St. SW - 247-4124
