Roberta S. Heckler, 73, a resident of Bernalillo, NM, passed away on June 28, 2009. Roberta was born on July 1, 1935 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Roberta was preceded in death by her brother Donald; mother Rae; and father Morris Stern. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, George B. Heckler; her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Allen Baca, her daughter Deborah Heckler; and granddaughter Brittany Heckler. Roberta was a graduate of UCLA and was an elementary school teacher. Once she married George they began their life together traveling throughout the world, including living in South America, the Middle East, and Asia. Roberta was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long time member of N.A.M.E., National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts, and enjoyed making and collecting miniatures. She was a great cook and loved traveling with her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, her smile and her love of life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends worldwide. A Service will be held in Rio Rancho on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. This will be followed by the interment which will take place on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 10500 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
