Obituary for SCHWINGENDORF

Paul D. "Pete" Schwingendorf Jr., 63, of Rolling Prairie, IN, died on June 14, 2009. He was born April 17, 1946, in Chicago, IL, to Paul Sr. and LaVerne (Reber) Schwingendorf. Mr. Schwingendorf was an electrical engineer for 23 years at New Energy Corporation in South Bend, IN. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. He enjoyed hunting, New Prairie School District and Purdue University sports, and was a loving, devoted man to his family and friends. Surviving is his wife of 29 years, Lu Ann Schwingendorf of Saugany Lake, IN; two daughters, Wende Schwingendorf O'Brien and husband, Scott, of Albuquerque, and Allison Schwingendorf of Indianapolis; one son, James Paul Schwingendorf of Saugany Lake and fiancee, Amanda Van Wanzeele of New Carlisle, IN; one brother, Keith (Lisa) Schwingendorf of LaPorte; three nieces, and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Schwingendorf. A Memorial Service was held June 18, 2009 in LaPorte with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
