Obituary for SALAZAR

Patrocinio "Pat" Salazar, age 87, a resident of Los Chavez, NM, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009. Pat served four years with the 13th Air Force in Australia and Guadalcanal in World War II. He was an educator and administrator for the Los Lunas Schools for 32 years. Pat was also a member of the VFW Post 2387, the DAV, Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Onofra Chavez Salazar; son, Pat Salazar, Jr.; his parents, Miguel and Adela Sanchez Salazar; brother, Delfin Salazar; and one granddaughter, Mary Baca. Pat is survived by his three loving children, Lucy Baca and husband, Raymond, Adela Lucero and husband, Chris and David Salazar; five grandchildren, Mary Jane Mason and husband, James, Anthony Baca, Jesse Baca and wife, Deonna, Brenda Lucero and Christopher Lucero; five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Tyler Baca, Johnathan and Jerry Mason and Darren Lucero; and sister-in-law, Helen Salazar. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. All Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Anthony and Jesse Baca, James Mason, Christopher Lucero, Zachary Baca, Nicholas Romero, Tina Bibiano, and Joseph Salazar.
