Carol Furman, 86, of Albuquerque; born 9-4-22 in Princeton NJ, formerly of Hugo MN; passed away 6-2-09 at home after a short illness. Preceded in death by husband Sam Kirkwood and brother Richard Furman. Survived by her children, Nancy (Don Tennent) and Duncan (JoAnn) Kirkwood; three grandchildren, Jenn Tennent, Hannah Tennent, Jennifer Peterson; and three great-grandchildren, Alexia, Andrew, Tyler Peterson; sister-in-law Patty Furman; niece Margo; nephew Nat; and many cousins. After graduating from Wellesley College in 1944, Carol attended graduate school in biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin. Carol enjoyed birds, gardening, the arts, bridge, tennis, and the company of many good friends. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to all the friends, family and caregivers who provided so much support during Carol's illness.
