Barbara J. Walden, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009. She was born in Wisconsin to Horace, a shoemaker, and Vivian, a housewife, where she had a wonderful childhood. She grew up to be top in her graduating class and as a teenager taught the guitar and played in a band. After high school, she moved to Albuquerque and married the love of her life, Jesse. They enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. Unfortunately Jesse died an untimely death more than 20 years ago. Barbara retired after that, then she and her best friends went back to work as independent contractors until last year when diagnosed with cancer. Her family was the most important thing to her and with her energy, patience, and loving will to have fun, inspired everyone to love her and want to be like her. She was preceded in death by her one true love, Jesse. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Cheri and Nancy; grandchildren, Mike, Steve, and his wife Karyn, Sharla, James, and Jessie; great-grandsons, Collin and Drew; and her stepson Jesse and his family. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She will truly be missed. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, May 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, with a short reception to follow. A private family service will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Barbara's care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010
