Calvin F. Stokely, age 58, of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away on Friday, May 9, 2009. He was born in Pineville, KY on September 11, 1950 to Effie M. Barge and John H. Stokely. He is survived by his wife Karen Stokely; mother-in-law Lila Davis, stepdaughter Lorrinda Brooks of Roswell, New Mexico and stepson Frank Cissne of Goodyear, AZ. Calvin had a granddaughter, Valerie Brooks and great-granddaughter Lerah Rainy Brooks both of Midland, TX. Calvin served our country in the United States Marine Corps between 1968 and 1974. He served proudly in the war against Vietnam. Calvin will always be remembered as a kind and generous man. He took care of his ill wife for ten years and worked tirelessly to provide for her and her mother, Lila Davis, of Los Lunas. He was employed by the VA Hospital in Albuquerque for the last ten years. We will miss him dearly and know that he is in a better place where he will know no pain.
