W. R "Bob" Jurgena passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Hospice of the Sandias, after battling Cancer since 1992. He is survived Muriel, his loving wife and best friend of 54 years; son, Jeff; daughter, Tari; daughter-in-law, Joan; son-in-law, Rob Welch; step-granddaughters, Gia and Haley Johnson; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Mr. Jurgena was born in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1927 and Honorably served in the US Navy during WWII. Upon his discharge from the US Navy, he embarked on a career manufacturing brick, which led him to becoming President of Kinney Brick Company of Albuquerque. He was also a Founding Member and President of the Bernalillo County Crime Stoppers. A private family Service has been held per his wishes. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the New Mexico Cancer Center, 4901 Lang Ave NE.
