Mattie Deane Oney, 83, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Wayne; daughters, Vicky Chesnut, Rhonda Van Marter and husband Steven and Carla Norcross and husband Terry; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother Henry Avery Coker; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Yandell Coker and sister, Jewell Ann Cooper. Mattie Deane grew up in Mountainair, went to school, met her husband and then returned there when they retired. They moved back to Albuquerque in 1996 to be closer to family, especially grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Friday, May 15, 2009, 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Cancer Center, 4901 Lang Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
