Juanita Maria Chapman was born in El Prado, NM on June 29, 1915. She passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at her home in Albuquerque. She enjoyed spending time with family members, traveling, and going to the North Valley Senior Center. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and her prayer life was very important to her. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Chapman; two grandsons, Alex and Chris Romero; and granddaughter, Leticia Davenport; and her three brothers. She is survived by her five children, Tina Romero and husband, Pancho Ortega, Norbert Cardenas and wife, Nora, Marilyn Santistevan, Ben Chapman and wife, Jo Ann, and Carmella Davenport and husband, Richard; 17 grandchildren, 31great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her. Services will be held at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Leo Padget presiding. Private Family Burial will take place at a later date in Alcalde, NM where she will be interred with her late husband, Bill.
