Obituary for HEWES

Jennie Louise Francis Hewes, 94, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of El Paso, TX, passed away on April 25, 2009. She was a graduate of El Paso High School and attended Saul Ross College in Alpine, TX, and the College of Mines in El Paso. She attended every season of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra until she moved to Albuquerque, 10 years ago, to be with her family. After retiring from the El Paso public school system in 1977, she enjoyed family, friends, and travel. She attended St. Clement's Episcopal Church for many years where she sang in the choir and where her nephew William S. Francis is Associate Pastor. She is survived by her sons, Ted R. Hewes of Pena Blanca, NM and Dan L Hewes of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Ann Wilson; two grandsons, Reed and Bryant Hewes of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Kristina Whentworth of Seaside; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, officiated by The Reverend William Francis.
