Obituary for HUENEFELD

LeRoy H. "Roy" Huenefeld, Jr., 86, passed away quietly on April 21, 2009. He has joined his wife of 54 years, Louise May Huenefeld, in heaven. Born in Bryan, Ohio on October 13, 1922, he joined the U. S. Navy and was a World War II disabled veteran. He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1947 and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1949. He then began a career working for Sandia National Laboratory until his retirement in 1972. He continued to remain a summer resident of Albuquerque and spend his winters in Naples, FL. "Roy" will always be remembered by his many friends as a shrewd real estate investor and avid world traveler, by his family for his constant love and support, and by St. Ann Church in Naples, FL as an usher and weekly money counter. Roy is survived by his son, LeRoy (Loretta) III of Naples, FL; two daughters, Cynthia (Bill) Karver of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Lynn (Bruce) Thomas of Tampa, FL. His pride and joy were his five grandchildren, Jamie, Crystal, Jason (Melissa), Kristi, and Christine. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeremy. Visitation was on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 475 9th Ave. S., Naples, FL. Mass of Christian Burial was on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with interment in Naples Memorial Gardens.
