Obituary for TEITELRIS

Louis Teitelris, 3-15-42 to 4-16-09. Our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle was suddenly taken from us. Born in Warsaw, Poland and migrated to this country when he was eight with his parents and two younger sisters. They settled in Brooklyn, New York. He served his country for six years with the National Guard, active duty. He was proceeded in death by his son Eric Mark age 40; his parents Abraham and Karoline Teitelreis; and his sister Sara Goldstein. He moved to Rio Rancho in 1976 with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Gloria of Rio Rancho; daughter Rochelle Green and husband Curtis; and granddaughters Kirstin and Ashley; daughter-in-law Flora James; and grandson Joshua; and granddaughter Lesleigh; he also leaves a sister Judy Sorensen and her husband Scott and their three daughters. Lou retired from the city of Albuquerque transit after 26 years of dedicated service. He was a volunteer at the Italian American Association as a loyal bingo caller. His hobbies included gardening, he was an avid chess and poker player. He enjoyed working out at Defined Fitness and talking to many friends he made there. He was always available for his grandchildren. He went to their soccer games, took them to the movies and so much more. A great "papa" who will be missed by many friends and family. He will be laid to his eternal rest Monday April 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating at the services will be Rabbi Minn Kantrowitz.
