"Tony" Anthony Alfonso Romero, 65, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009, after a short illness. He was born June 13, 1943 to Alfonso and Miquela Romero in T or C, NM. He was predeceased by his father, Alfonso Romero. Mr. Romero is survived by his mother, Miquela Romero; his son, Steven Romero; sister, Carol Romero; girlfriend, Renee Gavino; his former wife, Jane Romero; and two grandsons, Stefan and Elliott Romero. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. He was a well known musician who played with several groups through out his life. His friends can attest to the fact that he was a fabulous singer, as well as bass, trombone player and friend. He was a part of several groups, among those being, The Velvets, The Surprise Package, The Cayman, The Organization as well as other groups. He always had a funny story or joke for anyone he met. He lived life to the fullest and was loved by all who know him. A Visitation will be held at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 beginning at 6:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm also at the 8th Street Chapel, on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at San Jose Catholic Church.
