Obituary for LOPEZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday March 22, 2009

Pablo O. Lopez (Toby), 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, NM on March 12, 2009. Toby was born in Santa Fe, NM, and moved to Albuquerque in 1960. Toby is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Amelia (Amy) J. Lopez. He is also survived by his sons, Ernest T. Lopez, and James M. Lopez and his wife Sandra; grandsons Adam M. Lopez and Jarod A. Lopez; and great-granddaughter, Brianna. Toby was a meat cutter for 45 years, and retired from Furrs Supermarket. Most people would remember Toby with a golf club in his hand. He also loved to go camping and fishing with his family. He looked forward to family gatherings, especially when music was going to be played because he loved to dance, and boy, could he cut a rug. He also loved to read The Bible with Amy. He was a very loving and patient man, a good husband and father, and he sure loved his only great-granddaughter, Brianna. Toby firmly believed in the promise found in the Bible, at Revelation 21:3,4, that death will be no more. He also believed that all those in the memorial tombs will be resurrected to a paradise Earth. At his request, no services will be held. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery, as he was a veteran of the Korean War. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 109 Waterfall SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123. The family wishes to extend deep appreciation to the doctors and staff at Anna Kaseman hospice, for their special care and concern.
