Obituary for MAGILL

O'Velma Morrison Magill was born January 22, 1919. She died, Monday, March 9, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in rural Butler County, Missouri, she lived with her husband and children on a farm without electricity, running water and indoor plumbing, until her children were adults. O'Velma was a hard worker and loved to garden, both food and flowers, all of her life. O'Velma was a lifelong resident of Butler County, Missouri until moving to Albuquerque to live with her daughter, Mary Ann Magill, in 2002. She worked with her late husband Don, to found Magills Store, on Highway 67 north of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, for over 50 years, which they owned and operated until 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Magill, September 19, 2003; her sons, Kenneth in 1991 and Edward in 2004; her beloved daughter-in-law, Sandy in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her beloved Querque. O'Velma is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Ann Magill of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian and Blyinne Magill of Tennessee, Joe Heckler of Louisville, Kentucky and Chris Heckler of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Sandy Henry of Missouri, Robert Magill of Tennessee, Cierra Heckler of Kentucky, Jessie Magill of Tennessee and Alana Burnett of Albuquerque; two great-great- grandchildren, Carly and Tyson Henry of Maryland; many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Services were held in Polpar Bluff, Missouri. A Visitation took take place at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service was held at Hendrickson Chapel on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. O'Velma was then laid to rest at Black River Cemetery along-side her husband and children.
