Albert George Parker III. The Rev. Dr. Parker, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne; daughter, Katharine Redding and husband, Bill of Elephant Butte; son, John L. Parker and wife, Jill of Centennial, CO; and three grandchildren, Abbey, Ryan and Brendan. Albert was the son of missionary parents, born in Jinan, China on February 19, 1922. After returning to the United States, his father was President of Hanover College in Indiana. He attended Lawrenceville Prep School in New Jersey and graduated from Princeton University with the class of 1944. Albert served in the US Navy in the South Pacific and later graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1949. He married Joanne Lindberg in August of 1949 in Portland, OR. Albert served as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE.
