Obituary for WATERS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday March 05, 2009

Robert A. Waters, July 14th 1923 - March 3, 2009, Sunrise ~ Sunset With a song in his heart, he captivated and inspired, challenged and required. Strength of character, strength of resolve, strength to cherish, and to love. A man who would look you squarely in the eye and dare you to think. A Navy Veteran, defender of country, steadfast to hold close the truths he embraced. Twenty years in Service of State, to correct and uplift, a genuine hand to his fellow man. The roar of the lion equaled in might only by that which found compassion of the lamb. His baritone voice raised on high in harmony, melodious among the Highland Seniors. The joy of sharing, that whispers floating gently amidst powerful cymbals ignited glory. A gift carried on wings of the wind, sung in splendor, most soothing and resplendent. Intellect, insight, an irrefutable lifetime of wisdom shared unselfishly and of the heart. Of the tallest to the smallest, the shine in their eyes shall yet be the reflection of his. Not one memory lost, no moment left to linger, the years stole nothing of his grasp. Family are those who gather always about you, who accept all which encompasses you. Their joy is your laughter, their tears your pain, their breath the gift and fruit of your life. We shall define those whom define us, we shall know them as family, and it shall be. Left of this earth to soar to greater heights, he is remembered and lives on with us forever. The adored and cherished love of his life for thirty eight years, his Dear Olivia. Revered with love, Sons, Gary, Glenn, Brian and Robert. Heart of his heart, Grandchildren, Whitney, Shawn, Heather and Dylan. The immeasurable fortune of love gifted of the many, many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, family, friends and acquaintances, whom brought the greatest pleasure and uplifting to his heart. Be kind to and love one another, this day and everyday which follows in his memory.
