Etsu Sugaya A spirited wind Filled with mystery and beauty Has found its way home. Etsu Robertson, 74, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009, after a year long battle with cancer. She was born in Yokohama, Japan on December 17, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Don, whom she met and married in Japan. Etsu is survived by her children, Donald, his wife, Dolores, and their two sons, Matthew and Eric of Wichita, KS; Brian of Albuquerque; Sheila Cover, her husband, Rex, and their two children, Rachel and Adam of Albuquerque; one sister and four brothers as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of Japan. Etsu was a loving and generous mother and grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was quick to laugh and always ready to lend a hand when family or friends needed help or encouragement. We will miss her greatly. The family wishes to thank the Heritage Home Healthcare and Hospice Staff and caregivers Anne and Elizabeth for their kindness and gentle loving care. Also, thanks to the wonderful staffs at Lovelace Rehab Hospital and at the Oncology and Radiation Oncology Departments of Lovelace Hospital for their kindness and care and the hope they gave her. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
