Obituary for HALL

Robert D. Sergeant First Class Robert D. "Bob" Hall, (retd, USAR), age 57, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Bob was a retiree of the United States Army, with over 20 years of service, having proudly served two tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict. He helped establish the 160th Special Ops Unit, known as "The Nightstalkers." Bob was a certified SCUBA instructor, having taught at Emery-Riddle University in Germany and Northwest Central University in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Of all of the many places that he visited and lived, Bob always had a fondness and love for Germany. He was a 3rd degree member of Council 8230 of the Knight of Columbus at Kirtland Air Force Base and a member of the Albuquerque Gem and Mineral Club. Bob loved aviation, woodworking, animals and restoring old cars. He was wonderful husband and father who loved his family very much. He will always be remembered as the greatest man who ever lived. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Hall. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Hall; daughter, Tina Dial and her husband, Michael of Murfreesboro, TN; son, Dr. John Hall and his fiancee, Dr. Katie Ippolito of Chicago, IL; siblings, Linda Brown of North Carolina and Jean Hobbs, Chuck Hall, Doug Hall, Susan Hall, Mike Hall and Kathy Gartung, all of Tennessee. Also surviving is one grandson, Evan and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave., with The Most Holy Rosary to be recited at 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Jerome Mueller on Thursday morning at Our Lady of the Sandias located at the Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in Bob's name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
