David Jay Stern, sadly we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved and devoted Papa, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and Husband on Sunday, February 8, 2009 due to untreatable cancer. Dave was born in Barron, WI. He graduated from Barron High School. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and History from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, Dave served four years in the United States Air Force. Dave built an exemplary career with the Department of Defense at Kirtland Air Force Base as a well respected Contracting Officer. He retired from Federal Government service. Dave enjoyed his retirement occupying his time with things he enjoyed that were dear to him, traveling, fishing and camping trips with his family, especially his beautiful granddaughters and he never missed a Packer game. Dave's family always came first. He leaves a legacy that will be carried in the hearts of those blessed to have known him. We thank God for the love and time with Dave. He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; daughters, Christina and Nicole; granddaughters, Alexis, Stevie, Elyssa, and Brooke; brother, Jim Stern and wife, Sue; sister, Margaret Staebell and husband Bob; sister-in-law, Donna Vilandry and husband, Bob; and nieces and nephews.
