Obituary for GRIEGO

Juan L. Griego, 74, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009. He was born in Trinidad, CO on Saturday, January 12, 1935 to Jacobo and Abelina Griego. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. Juan also retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 10 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kate W. Griego; sister Delores Baca and husband, Art Baca; mother of his children, Mary Griego; children, John Griego and wife, Cherise Griego, Teresa Griego-Garcia and husband, Alfredo Garcia, Steve Griego and wife, Nancy Griego, Michelle Griego-Leyba and husband, Edward Leyba all of Albuquerque, Angela Guillot of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Audrey Billips, Jonathan Griego and Ramon Guillot; four great-grandchildren, Natalia Abrams, Amari Billips, Jovan Billips, Jaliyah Guillot; step-children, Linda Clifcorn and husband, Mike Clifcorn, Lupe Bevan and husband, Earl Bevan, Arthur Struck and wife, Sheila Struck, Sandra Weston; 15 grand-children and ten great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and family get togethers. Juan was a proud member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Rosary will be recited Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Parish, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 with Deacon Ruben Barela reciting. Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 13, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Parish, with Father Vincent Dominguez celebrating.
