Isabelle Crum Rorer, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. She had been fighting breast cancer for the last six years. Isabelle was born January 8, 1918 the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Elizabeth Scott Crum in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. She graduated from Hamilton High West and Trenton State Teachers College. Isabelle taught elementary school in the Hamilton Township School District for twenty four years. Prior to retiring to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Isabelle and her late husband, Frank "Mickey" Rorer, resided in Yardley, Pennsylvania for 25 years. While a resident of Albuquerque, Isabelle founded the library for the Albuquerque Literacy Program and served as the librarian. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling the world to experience new places and cultures. She was preceded in death by her husband; and one brother, Frank Scott Crum. Isabelle is survived by four daughters Fran Greicius and companion Bill Sowers of Findlay, OH, Louise Rosett and husband Walter of Albuquerque, NM, Sherri Baker and husband Barry of Bay City, MI, and Roxanne Stern and husband Robert of Los Altos, CA; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
