Alfonso E. Medina, born April 30, 1921 in Del Norte, Colorado, passed away February 2, 2009 at his home in Albuquerque, NM with his family. A veteran of the Pacific Campaign during World War II, he was a teacher, principal, counselor and after retirement, a loyal member of the Highland Senior Center. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; daughters, Cassandra Medina and Veronica Medina; and son, Patrick Medina. He is also survived by three nephews, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Our thoughts and love will be with you always. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover Ave SW, on Saturday, February 7, 2009 with a Rosary to be recited at 12:00 p.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
