Joan Fortman, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family, Saturday, January 31, 2009. She is survived by her son, Stephen David Scheerer; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Toth; granddaughter, Lavendar Toth; step-daughter, Theresa Gross of Washington; step-grandchildren Gary Rambo, Dr. Deborah Sinn, David W. Barber, Tanya K. Larson, and Thomas K. Barber. Mrs. Fortman was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Fortman. Joan was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at a later date.
