Michael L. Pyles passed away on January 21, 2009, following a two-year battle against cancer. He was born in Kansas City, KS to Robert L. and Ruth Pyles on October 21, 1945. He was a 1962 graduate from Sandia High School in Albuquerque. Mike worked in the Finance industry for most of his career, and he lived in Lafayette and Shreveport, LA; San Antonio and El Paso, TX; and Clovis, NM. Up until recently, he had been a resident of Gallup, NM for many years and owned a loan company there. After the death of his father, Mike moved back to Albuquerque. He is survived by his mother, Ruth; his brother Dennis and wife Sue-all of Albuquerque; many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Dennie Jones and Anastasia Estocin at the UNM Cancer Center and the caregivers on 5 East of UNMH. A Memorial Service will be held at the Harwood United Methodist Church (420 San Lorenzo, NW) on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harwood United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo, NW, Abq., NM 87107.
