Anita C. Martinez, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord on January 19, 2009. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Federico O. Martinez; her children Ella Porragas & husband Samuel, Selma Luna & husband Frank, Mario Martinez, Marlin Martinez, and Conchita Sandoval & husband Ray; her grandchildren Carrie Hanecak & husband Ken, Garth Porragas, Mary Barry & husband Kent, Sabrina Zamora & husband James, Nathan Sandoval & wife Monique, Antoinette Sandoval, and Jason Sandoval; her great-grandchildren, Eddie, Samy, Bia, Hunter, Spencer, Andrew, Brian, Anthony, Brooke, Roxton, and Reyes; her sister Estella Sandoval & husband Tiofilo, and numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents Anastacia & Pablo Cordova, brothers Carpio & Reymundo Cordova, and granddaughter Bernadette Porragas. She was born on May 11, 1925 in Truchas, NM, moved to Los Alamos in 1956, then to Albuquerque in 1982. She was a graduate of Menaul High School, a member of Second Presbyterian Church, and a volunteer in both the Purple Heart & DAV Auxiliaries. Viewing will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., at Second Presbyterian Church located at 812 Edith NE, with interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
