Sofia Elena "Manga" Torres born April 11, 1943, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2009 while surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her two children, Richard "Bebo" Torres & Mona Whiting; her two granddaughters whom she loved unconditionally, Melanie & Brittni. Manga, as she was known to many, is also survived by her sisters Lucy, Nora, Antonia, & Peggy; brothers Juan & Benny; numerous other family and friends & long time friend Ann Parada. Manga will be greatly missed especially by her granddaughter Melanie whom she helped raise! A Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Saturday January 17, 2009 at 12 p.m.-1p.m. at Agua Vida Ministry at 144 Texas NE with food and refreshments following the Service. A special thanks to the doctors & nurses at UNM Hospital for their care of Manga. We would also like to express heartfelt thanks & much gratitude to all our family for helping us get through this most difficult time, her sisters who stayed by Manga's side on her last days-Thank you all very much for all your support and your prayers! May she rest in peace!
