Obituary for HILL

William Boyd Hill, 81, passed from this life to Heaven on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Born in Logan, NM, on Sunday, October 9, 1927, Bill came to Albuquerque in a covered wagon with his family the following year. He attended Albuquerque High School and met the love of his life, Nelda Jo Tidwell at her uncle's drug store. They were married June 16, 1946, and spent most of their married life in Albuquerque's North Valley. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, son, brother and uncle, an awesome grandfather and a very special great- grandfather. Nelda preceded him in death in 2004 after 58 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Julia Duncan, Elsie Davis; and his daughter, Sue Ellen Coffin and her husband, Charles T. Coffin. Bill is survived by his sister, Ruth Kelly of El Paso, TX; son Randy and wife, Pat; daughters, Linda and Leslie Hill all of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous loving nieces and nephews, and many, many long-time friends. A retired ironworker, Bill was an avid horseman and a long-time member of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse. He was a member of Northdale Baptist Church and was well loved by everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna NW.
