Joesuph Arthur Jay "Joe" Gallegos, 12, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2009. Joe is survived by his parents Anthony and Cathy Gallegos; grandparents Carlos and Bertha Gallegos and Cathy Cheever and her husband Robert, and Arthur Salazar; great-grandparents Cecelia Gallegos, Arthur and Nellie Salazar; brothers Carlos Gallegos and Tiffany Noriega, Gabriel Gallegos, Anthony "Poocke" Gallegos Jr., Steven "Bug" Gallegos; and many aunts, uncles, family and friends. Joe loved basketball. He was a talented artist. He was a solid "B" student at Hayes Middle School. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Friday, January 16, 2009, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Services will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper N.E. 87108, with Rev. Trey Hammond, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd, N.E. Pallbearers will be Carlos Gallegos, Gabriel Gallegos, Gabriel Ruiz, James Conant, Michael Conant, and Edward Boucher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Gallegos, Steven Gallegos, Carlos Gallegos, and Arthur Salazar. A reception will follow at La Mesa Presbyterian Church.
