Obituary for DODSON

Robert Carroll Dodson, 80, of Albuquerque passed away at his home on January 10, 2009, of pancreatic cancer. He was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 6, 1928 to Zearl and Gladys Dodson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Zearl (Red) Dodson and Paul L. Dodson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 53 years; his brother, Kenneth and wife Sue Dodson of Aztec, New Mexico; sons, Robert, Jr. of Albuquerque and David and wife Frances of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Tim and Julie Dodson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Shaun and Stacy Dodson of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters-in-law, Emma Dodson of Kingman, Arizona, and Betty Dodson of Fresno, California; many loving nieces and nephews and friends. He loved God and Country. He was a career military man, serving twenty years in the U.S. Air Force including tours with the 27th Fighter Wing in the Korean War, tours in the Philippines, England, and Okinawa, Japan with SAC and ATC plus TDY tours to Eniwetok and various U.S. bases retiring in 1968. He was a member of Air Force Sergeants Association, the Retired Enlisted Association, National Association for Uniformed Services, AARP, and the National Association of Police Organizations, Inc. He attended the Temple Baptist Church and loved his Lord and Savior. Memorial service will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Temple Baptist Church.
