Obituary for PADILLA

Nora Padilla, born January 29, 1915, passed away at age 93 on January 6, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was the wife of the late Alfonso L. Padilla and a former resident of Santa Rosa, NM where she lived for 81 years prior to her move to Albuquerque. Nora was born in Juan De Dios, NM to the late Victoriano and Lucinda Fajardo. She was preceded in death by her brothers Victoriano, Jose, Doroteo and sister Celina Fajardo; sons baby Hilario, Daniel, Gilbert and Reynaldo (Rayne) Padilla. She is survived by a sister Dolores and her husband John Solano; sons Floyd Padilla and wife Helen, Orlando Padilla, Victor Padilla and wife Margaret, Larry Padilla and wife Barbara; daughters Flora and her husband Raul Garcia, Agneda Casaus with whom she resided, Vera and her husband David Estrada, Marie and her husband Joe Villanueva, Judy and her husband Robert Myklak; daughters-in-law Cecilia Padilla and Linda Padilla. Also surviving are 38 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Nora was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was a grand homemaker whose joy in life was cooking for her family and friends, spending time with her children and taking care of her beautiful flowers that adorned her home. She was a devout Catholic, a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Albuquerque, The Women's Guild, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Ct Santa Rosa de Lima in Santa Rosa and a member of El Sagrado Corazon. Rosary Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Patrick Padilla, Adam Padilla, Rick Padilla, Dr. Chris Padilla, Andrew Padilla, Jerry Cordova, Ernest Padilla. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be; Dr. Dan Casaus, Daniel Padilla and Eric Padilla. All Services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa (575) 472-3369.
