Philip Anthony Nicovich passed away January 4, 2009 in Albuquerque. He was born April 30, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Philip and Henrietta Toso-Nicovich. Philip graduated from the Delgado Trade School in New Orleans as an Aeronautical Engineer. He married Iris Ohlsen in 1941, and together they moved to Los Alamos, where Philip became part of the Manhatten Project. They later moved to Albuquerque and Philip retired from Sandia National Labs after 35 years of service. Philip also served as the Chairman of the National Drafting Standards Committee and traveled internationally in this capacity. He is survived by his son Jon and wife Starla of Sandia Park; and daughter Marilyn Caudle of Benbrook, Texas; grandchildren, Keith and Justin Nicovich of Sandia Park, New Mexico and Stacy Gottlieb; and great-grandchild Alexa Gottlieb of Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Iris.
