Obituary for WILKINS

Elsie D. Wilkins, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, December 20, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James L. Wilkins; children, Patrick Wilkins and wife Debbie of Albuquerque and Stephen Wilkins and wife Jeanne of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Justin, Shane, Claire and Grace; brother, Dan Dunsworth and wife Theresa of Glendale, AZ; and other relatives and friends. Elsie was born on May 1, 1928 in Gallup, NM to Florence and Jenny Dunsworth and graduated from Cathedral High School in Gallup. She attended New Mexico Highlands University before obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Albuquerque. Elsie worked for the FHA, the City of Albuquerque, and Sandia National Labs where she retired after 21 years. She also served as a volunteer board member and President for the Sandia Labs Federal Credit Union. Elsie was a long time member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, bridge, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Elsie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Claremont and Vermont Streets NE, Monday, December 29, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. Private interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
