Obituary for STABLEFORD

Vernon Guy Stableford, 57, a resident of Tijeras, lost his battle with brain cancer on Thursday, December 11, 2008, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy Stableford; son, Adam Stableford and wife Kristina; daughter, Amber Brokaw and husband Josh; mother, Barbara Erwin and husband Bill; brother, William Stableford; sister, Patricia L'Amie and husband Bill; nephew, Bryan Benson.; and numerous other loving family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Vernon was born in Kingman, AZ, on February 1, 1951, and was raised in Arizona, Louisiana, and Texas, before moving to Albuquerque in 1971. He was an automation engineer with Intel, working many years in the computer industry, previously with Singer, Modcomp, Kemtah, and Hewlett Packard. Vernon's hobbies included computers, bowling, and his model airplanes and trains. He was a longtime member of Mountainside Church of Christ, where he served many years as a deacon and teacher. Vernon was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Services will be held on 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd NE. Interment will follow at the McCall Family Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ponderosa Christian Camp.
