Dora Couch Baldwin, age 99, a resident of Rio Communities in Belen, NM passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. She was a member of Sierra Vista Baptist Church in Rio Communities. Dora was born in Spring City, Pennsylvania. She spent most of her youth in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Dora retired from the Department of Army, Washington, D.C. after 30 years of outstanding service and moved to Belen in 1973. In 1974, she organized the XYZ Club for the purpose of greeting newcomers to the Rio Communities. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Doris Couch Davis Bigger; two sons, John S. Couch, Jr. and Ronald Couch; and two ex-husbands, John S. Couch and George M. Baldwin. Dora is survived by one sister, Mary Salena Deeter of Reading, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Sierra Vista Baptist Church, on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
