Obituary for DIREEN

Thomas C. Direen, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008. He is survived by his three children, Michael Direen of Elephant Butte, NM, Karen Ambrose of Phoenix, AZ and Alan Direen and wife, Beth of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Kimberly Ambrose, Shawn Ambrose, Robin Direen and Ryan Direen; four great-grandchildren, Reignen, Kai, and Breezy Page, and Toren Ambrose; and numerous other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edna in January 2006; and son, Keven Direen in April 1968. He was born on September 6, 1927 in Rochester, NY. He proudly worked for Mountain Bell for 32 years, retiring in 1983. Tom enjoyed traveling, golf, and was a jazz enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Tom was a friend to all and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. on Saturday, December 6, 2008, 1:00 p.m. Interment will be Monday, December 8, 2008, 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O.
