Riley B. Bingham, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. He is survived by his children, Debra Freeman and husband Barron of Albuquerque, Sandra Morgan of North Carolina, and Bill Hamilton and wife Denise of Arizona; grandchildren, Derek Freeman, Terri Rinna, Lori Plotz, Nicki Reed, Randy, Ron and Ross Vitales, Jason Hamilton, Michelle Jobe and Janet Keville; 17 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. Riley was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bingham in 1983; son, Richard Hamilton in 2003; and his parents, Thomas Lorenzo and Lavina Munson Bingham. He was born on September 29, 1917 in Huntsville, UT and graduated from high school in Ogden, UT. He attended and graduated with his degree in Physical Education from Utah State in Logan, UT. Riley served proudly in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a physical therapist in the United States Public Health Service from 1956 to his retirement, retiring as a Captain. Riley was active with The Meadows Mobile Home Park for over 15 years, serving on their board and organizing sports activities for the residents. He also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and coaching his grandson's baseball team. Riley was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service and Reception will be held at The Meadows Community Center, 7112 Pan American Freeway NE, Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Home, 7100 Carriage NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 where Riley lived for several years.
